About Us What we believe: We believe that God is the creator and sustainer of the universe. That man, the chief of his creation rebelled and continues to rebel against God’s will. That God has redeemed us from eternal condemnation through the atoning death and resurrection of his son Jesus Christ, and that the Holy Spirit dwells within us, restoring our fellowship with God which will be perfected upon his return. Our History: First CRC of South Holland was organized in 1865 by a small band of Dutch settlers and for the past 135 years has sought to remain faithful to God by consistently preaching His word and presenting His message of sin and salvation to all who will listen. Throughout our history we have supported many missionaries both at home and abroad. We are presently directly supporting missionary activities in several countries including China, Russia, France and Indonesia as well as many locations here in the United States. Our Mission: Our mission is to continue preaching the truth of God’s redemptive plan. Instructing and encouraging His people to live lives in service to God and their fellow men. We recognize that South Holland is a diverse community with people from many backgrounds. We also know that God has called people from all races and nations. It is our desire to bring together, in lives of service to God and to each other, all those willing to call Christ Lord and who subscribe to the doctrines of the reformed Christian faith. Worship With Us: We are called by God to worship him. We do so willingly and joyfully because of the grace he has extended us. God has set aside one day every week for us to rest from our labors and gather as believers to praise, worship and offer thanksgiving. You are invited to worship with us at any of our services. Sunday Morning 9:30 a.m. Fellowship and Learn with Us: In addition to worship God has also called us to lift each other up through regular fellowship with each other. 1st CRC has many ministries and programs designed to provide opportunities for encouragement, growth and spiritual enrichment.
